Call for Volunteers to Research Local History

ma_library2Saturday, October 14 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mahopac Library, the Putnam County Land Trust is holding an information session for anyone interested in joining a team of volunteer “history detectives” for the PCLT History Project 1969-2019.

The Putnam County Land Trust is preparing for its 50th Anniversary
as the longest running non-profit nature conservancy in  Putnam and gearing up to compile a history of the organization. As part of this project we are assembling a team of volunteers to assist with research into the growth of this vital land conservancy. Researchers of any and all skill levels are welcome. Over the long run, the volunteer’s time commitment can be suited to their schedule–as little as one hour or as many as ten or twenty. Research tasks may include searching online through newspaper archives, exploring local history collections for photos or interviewing local figures involved in this history.
