Vernal Pool Walk and Wine
Saturday, Mar 29th 3:00 p.m.

Visit a local vernal pool and amphibian breeding ground to witness signs of spring. Wear boots, bring treats or wine to share after the walk at the leader’s home in Kent. For more information or to register, please call (845) 228-5635.

Woodcock Walk
Saturday, April 5th 8:00 p.m.

Witness the amazing aerial display of the male woodcock as he courts admiring females; learn its life history, habitats, and adaptations. Binoculars won’t help; bring curiosity, a folding chair, meet at the southwest corner of the A&P parking lot at the intersection of Rte 22 and Rte 311 in Patterson. Hike to Hawk Rock
Sunday, April 20th 11:00 a.m.

Co-sponsored by the Kent Conservation Advisory Committee, meet at the end of Whangtown Road for a walking tour led by James Baker, historian Tom Maxson, and naturalist Beth Herr. Bring lunch. To register, please send e-mail to Alchemist3@comcast.net.

Join New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s wildlife biologist, Kevin Clarke to hear about the life history and ecological benefits and impacts of this large and local mammal. This program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Great Swamp (FrOGS) and will be held at the Lawlor Building, at the intersection of Rtes 164 and 311 in Patterson.
